Tallahassee Democrat: Reggie Garcia, author of book on Department of Corrections banned list, to speak at bookstore

From the Tallahassee Democrat.

On Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., independent bookstore Midtown Reader will host a discussion and book signing with local clemency lawyer Reggie Garcia, author of the books "How to Leave Prison Early: Florida Clemency, Parole, and Work Release" and "Second Chances: Florida Pardons, Restoration of Civil Rights, Gun Rights and More."

Recently the Tallahassee Democrat reported that Garcia’s book "How to Leave Prison Early" is included on a list of 20,000 books banned by the Department of Corrections for use by Florida inmates.

The event is free and open to the public. Garcia’s books will be available for purchase at a discounted price ($10), and a percentage of proceeds will benefit The Innocence Project of Florida.

For more information about this event or other programming at Midtown Reader, contact Events Director Katie Hautamaki at [email protected].
